Habs Trade Rumors – Joel Armia (Darren Dreger on TSN 690)

OK Guys, its time to have a chat about the recent trade rumors surrounding the Montreal Canadiens, Yesterday, which was Friday March 11th, Darren Dreger was a guest on TSN690, and he would mention that teams around the league are making calls about Habs forward Joel Armia.
Armia has been having a terrible season statistically, he is in the first year of a lucrative contract which was given to him by Marc Bergevin, and while trading him seems like a stretch, do you think it could possibly happen ? Let me know what you think in the comment section, what exactly would a Joel Armia trade look like for the Canadiens?

  1. I agree Armia has had 2 crappy regular seasons in a row now but he was a beast in the playoffs. He can make a huge difference in the bottom of a lineup with the right players. He was at his best with 2 other big bodies playing keep away along the opposition end boards. he hasn't had that this year and didnt't really get except last years playoffs where we had Stall and Perry. Armia can be a good piece on a winner. If we can get a pick or a prospect for him sure but he can be useful to us as well in a retool. He is a big body that can control the play if he is on a line that can cycle the puck.

  2. Joey Armia is playing better as of late. Hes a takeaway and playoff beast. I dont think hes going anywhere.

  3. Keep waiting for the guy to find his way on this team. But now at 3.4 mill if we could get anything for him I'd let him go. Preferably a prospect.

  4. I wonder if putting one man Armia with Poehling on a mo consistent basis could be a step towards simulating that Beast of a trio from last years playoffs

  5. armia was kks hhero when he was young, lets sell him to caro somehow

seriosuly though, a bit too much money for a 1/2 power forward.
    take a 2nd for him

  6. That fourth line of Armia-Staal-Perry in the playoffs was fucking top tier.

Most nights Armia isn’t noticeable out there but some nights he looks like Jack Eichel out there. I’ll miss One Man Armia but if you could trade him you’d do it

  7. This guy was one of my favorites hands down a couple years back. The puck stuck to his stick like glue and he could protect it like no one else. A promising youngster! Now, seeing him lost in the St-Louis era makes a trade seem possible. Sad to see him go, if he goes, but I just hope he finds his game again, wherever that happens to be

  8. Armia,Lehkonen,Byron,Paquette,Perreault all add depth to the bottom 6 of most playoff bound teams and Kulak and Wideman for depth on D and most of these guys are not expensive additions so if the habs can get decent return maybe a trade makes sense (in Gorton,Hughes & St. Louis we trust)

  9. He drives people crazy because he has size and potential. He seems to lack a killer instinct and intensity. I was actually okay with the contract when signed. It’s a good deal if he’d play to potential
