Ootl on the newer Babcock issues. What did turd burglar do this time? I read something about a picture and taking a players phone

Are the tigers putting on red wings helmets as soon as they hit home runs? I saw a picture early in the season and figured it was a one off joke, but saw another on MLive. Kinda love that.

I hope the investigation with Babcock isn’t over just because he resigned. Jenner seems to have utterly failed in his role as captain and PA rep by putting out his statement downplaying things. At best he was irresponsible, at worst he straight up lied. Either way I don’t see how he should continue as the PA rep.

Watch CBJ hire Quenneville now lmao.

Babcock sitch is interesting one. Let me be clear: he should have resigned and never even should have been hired in the first place. Full stop.

Additionally, though, I’m actually a bit surprised he resigned or more likely was forced to resign. It was a terrible decision to hire him in the first place, but Jaarmo did say when they hired him that they wouldn’t tolerate basically any problems. At the time I just sounded like executive speak, but part of me is actually a little bit surprised that they followed through with it. They definitely did the right thing, clearly, and it doesn’t excuse the fact that it was ridiculous to hire him in the first place, but I guess if I’m looking at potential silver linings, it’s nice to see that they actually took a stand instead of trying to write something off as easily as a lot of hockey media did.

Spitting chicklets should run with this as long as they possibly can. It may force some change. I hope they also acknowledge that they are of, and also reflect a lot of the actions of, an era and mindset that has caused as much abuse and mental/emotional issues within the game as anybody. It’s great that they are proclaiming to be a voice for the players who don’t have one, but they better be consistent if they’re going to stand on that pedestal now. Their attitudes in the past have been reflective of a mindset that helped create and perpetuate actions like Babcock’s.

Hopefully they, as well as hockey in general, become more proactive about this stuff instead of just being reactive like usual.
