  1. We tend to win if he's in the lineup. I think he'll be resigned. The reason for this is there is a very real possibility that Neal and possibly Russell being bought out. I still think that Nurse will get traded to Seattle. We have no choice but to protect Russell as he has a no move clause. We can protect one other D (and that will be Klefbom if they have any intelligence at all). Some players are protected so no issue and that includes Bear. That leaves Nurse wide open to be snatched in the expansion draft. I think he'll go. Even if we don't buyout Russell that leaves us with Klefbom/Larsson, Bear/Benning, Russell/Jones, Bouchard as the spare (or mix it up some and float Jones as a spare etc.). D get hurt. It's a fact of life when a lot of what you do is block shots from a frozen rubber hockey puck that can be moving at over 100kph. That hurts and you get hurt so you need spares. I see him being signed if the price is right and allowing for the reality of the potential new reduced cap that means that remaining players have to take a serious look at their worth and adjust it downward if they want to stay and play. Great breakdown. I like Benning. He's young(ish) and we have time with him.
