After being forced to watch Halak struggle in Vancouver during the 2021-22 season I can’t say I’m thrilled at the prospect of him coming to Colorado. No doubt the D in front of him would be miles better, but it feels like other options floated by the media like DeSmith might be better. That said it’s all a crapshoot.
Bless Frankie’s body and pray it’s not a long-term issue.
Roy started with Montreal then came to Colorado… Halak started with Montreal then came to….

Hopefully just a temporary fix to give us time to replace Frankie.
Halak may play OK for us, who knows, but obvious a 38 year old is not our long term backup tender solution.
Is Annunen not ready to step into the 2 spot? I thought he looked good in the game he played for us last season.
Real ‘thaw out Vinny Testaverde’ energy to this move, but then again, goalie performance is so wildly variable it really can’t hurt to see what a vet with 600 games under his belt can do as a game-managing backup behind what is very likely still the best defense in the league.
