Gusty with Johansson were great off-season signings. Gusty as with all teams and goaltending, holds the keys to the season. I loved him saying he was average at best in the Dallas series as Ottinger did outplay him games 4-6.
Stats don’t lie but they also can be deceiving. Look at Fleury in Chicago as an example, facing 45 shots, 20 high end nightly. Gusty is a stud and a steal for Talbot. Another great move by the GM. Great positional goalie and a 1-2 when Wallstedt comes aboard. Great position to have covered for years.
Gus is the man. I don't think Guerin wants tge perception Gus will play 60 games with MAF still around.
Jesper Walstedt had an uninspiring start out in the Prospect Pool Game with St. Louis, he let 5 in and he was not as sharp as you'd expect. Was tgat an off day? Were they telling him not to press it? Maybe he has a slight nagging injury? He just wasn't that sharp. Glad he will still have this yeR with Iowa to shine himself.
One of the calmest goalies I've seen in a Wild sweater. Sort of reminds me of a young Backstrom with such a chill demeanor. He'll be a fantastic tandem with Wally when he comes up to the big club.
The reason gus didn't get any respect not enough games played
I don't expect a 931 save percentage this year, but 920s should be expected
Fleury should only play on back to backs knowing evason that wont happen
