Pretty nuts that Hoffman, Pitlick and some cap space returned all this. Went Wughes!

He’s missing Pearson (which could return another middle/late pick later).

We got 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Pearson, Lindstrom and Légaré

    Now that’s good asset management

Combine the two Petry trades and we gave up Petry, Poehling, Hoffman, Pitlick and gained Matheson, Lindstrom, Pearson, Legare, a 2d, a 3d and two 4ths. And using this year’s cap hit figures (and excluding Legare), net cap hit is 270k lower.

  5. While Bergevin often had good trades, he also had some extremely mid ones too. He was a swing for the fences kind of GM.

Hughes, otoh, is the Mayor of Valuetown. He either wins a trade outright or he finds a way to gain some small bit of value either by shedding bad contracts or adding a late pick, etc.

All of the small gains add up over time to the point where we now have tons of cap space, tons of upcoming draft picks, tons of b or c level prospects where even just one parking or would be a massive W and very few remaining dud contacts.

  6. Wouldnt mind sacrificing a pick or two from our 22 over the next two drafts to get rid of Armia
