Even as a defenseman and with the new technology I still feel like longer than shoulder height on skates is too long. You don’t need a long stick for a deceptive poke check. And your reach is no good if you don’t have control. Either way, what feels right for you is almost always the answer.

These comments are crazy. Any decent hockey player would tell you that’s surprisingly short. To each their own, the guy is gonna score 50 this year, but that is not the norm.

That’s a pretty normal length for a pro. The whole up to your chin thing is just what they tell kids who are still growing.
