    That’s a really tidy piece of business heading into training camp. Addresses a position of need, clears some cap-space.

    Also opens up the kind of space where they could potentially be involved in the waiver wire as we get through camp.

    With Pearson the team was going to cap out at 21 skaters. Much more flexibility now in keeping bodies around.

    We’d be in serious risk of losing Hog on waivers if he didn’t crack the roster out of camp, which makes this an added bonus

    Solid move. Pearson was basically only re-signed because he was Horvat’s BFF. With the extra stress of his issues with the medical team it was just time to move on. This move works out way better than I expected. I assumed we’d pay a premium to dump him, but we addressed an issue for a minimal cost. Overall it’s a win-win.
