  1. Our biggest weakness since I can remember is middle linebacker. I’m not disappointed about this pick at all.

  2. They took a 1st round LB that isn't going to be playing on 3rd down because of his lack of speed. I don't like this pick at 18 when his grade was regularly in the high 30's.

  3. Love Jack Campbell, 1st team All American, Big Ten defensive player of the year, Dick Butkus award winner, and more. Such a smart pick, will solidify the run defense and also help the pass defense.

  4. Campbell is very good in the pass game and he isn’t slow. He’s got nose for the ball and flies sideline to sideline. And he’s tough and mean as hell. Solid pick

  5. I'm a little disappointed by the draft so far. Not by the Lion's picks as much as the many negative, disrespectful comments by the Lions' faithful fan base. Doesn't anyone remember the damage that has been done by the previous Lions management? Are to many people still suffering the pain & distrust brought on by the previous attempts to mimic "the Patriot way'? It's gonna take some time & more than a few simple steps to build the foundation of professional athletes who are playing for more than just a gigantic lifestyle and paycheck. It's not easy to find players who not only are great players but who are great teammates as well. Great teammates use their strengths to help the other players use their strengths. I that the coaches know who those players are AND I guarantee that they know that much better than the fan who doesn't earn one cent from our casual, inexperienced, uneducated eyes … or hearts for that matter

  6. B. Holmes continues to Pull Rabbits out of His Hat. " Hey Rocky…Nothing Up My Sleeve. PRESTO!!!".

  7. I love this pick for the Lions. This kid will be special. He is big, can run and will improve as a cover player as he gets acclimated to the NFL game. He's one of my favorite players in this draft. A+

  8. Rd 2 if he’s there when we pick I’m taking Porter Jr and if Simpson is there with our other 2nd rd pick I’m taking him let’s fill that LB room up

  9. I didn't like Van Ness, but caught Campbell while watching tape. I was impressed. He's better at coverage than he looks like he would be, faster than he should be, and is a tackler. He reminded me of Ted Hendricks in style, who was tough as snot for a long guy. Not a bad pick, just not exciting. One way to solidify the front seven, though. Now I want to see Benton with #34 and maybe a good TE (LaPorta is my fav) with one of the next two. There's a lot of draft to come!

  10. They used to say the same things about Chris Speilman. And Gibbs is lightning in a bottle and more durable

  11. Not mad but I don’t get it. I trust Holmes at this point so I’ll wait and see. I think Both players could’ve been had later, maybe not Campbell.

  12. We could get Joey porter jr, Hooker, Keanu Benton, and A.J. Perry still. A lot of talent on the board still.

  13. “He doesn’t have good side to side movement”. Campbell was the highest rated coverage LB in college football lol. Some of y’all just say stuff to say stuff. Just say you think he’s slow bc he’s white but aren’t sure bc you really haven’t studied all the tape & combine results.

  14. You guys don’t let PFF get into your heads. This is a need. Jack Campbell is a true LB. There are not a lot of great players but a ton of very good players. We have what 3 second round picks? We be fine.

  15. Speed isn't everything but knowledge of the game to put yourself in the right place is. His coach said he was the best player he has coached. Call him a to good to be true player. He has only been there 24 years.

  16. Derrick, just accept the fact that nobody can predict what Brad Holmes is going to do on any given pick. I am going to steal a phrase from Winston Churchill, Brad Holmes "is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma". Not only does Holmes bamboozle the Lions fan base, but he also does the same to all the other NFL GM's. This is one of Holmes's greatest qualities, being able to brilliantly camouflage his actual intentions with the use of deception. Every pre-draft press conference this year was an exercise in deception and hiding his true intentions. Holmes is the best in the business, we're lucky to have him.

  17. Supposedly he can cover well due to his height. He isn't going to be covering the more shifty players but he will get after guys and be in on practically every tackle. Just what they said on ESPN.
