EP Rinkside 2023 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 1-ranked Chicago Blackhawks

Base synapsis of why they ranked us here:

“The gift of Connor Bedard, the sport’s greatest prospect since Connor McDavid, could once again put the franchise back on track to success. Maybe not immediately, but assuredly over the next several seasons. Bedard could become the team’s next driving force, lifting it more and more up the standings each passing year, as he improves and figures out the NHL.

But the pressure to get the Blackhawks back to the promised land won’t fall entirely on his shoulders. The team has been drafting well over the past couple of seasons, adding talent and a lot of speed to their pool. The organization is building a dynamic lineup that could boast one of the most threatening rush offences in the league in a few years.”

  1. *Note: This list does not include Reichel or Vlasic, as neither are Calder eligible anymore. Safonov was also not ranked, though I think he may have just been forgotten haha.*

    Interesting bits I saw:

    – Nazar’s ceiling projection wasn’t hampered too much by missing last season, though they do describe him as a “play-driving winger” as opposed to a center. I wonder if the FO has the same thought in their mind as they experiment with Reichel at center?

    – In his best years, EP thinks Bedard can reach a 40-60 goal, 80-120 point kind of peak as a regular occurence.

    – Moore is allegedly one of the best skaters in the entire sport, including all those in the NHL.

    – Del Mastro is #5, above Kaiser (#6). They seem to be higher on him than pretty much all other sources I have seen.

Been waiting for this one. Known it’s been coming for a while because EP is higher on our prospects than other public sources
