  1. I am against in principle drafting a goalie in the first round but with very specific circumstances I'm for it. Gabriel D'Aigle is a projected exceptional goalie and will be available in the 2025 draft. The 2025 draft will be very deep.
👉🏻 In a rebuild if you have filled important positions like centers, defenses and an exceptional scorer like Caufield you can afford to draft a goalie. example: Fleury and Vasilevskiy. Hughes' team will be ready for Gabriel D'Aigle in 2025.

  2. Interesting theory for the cap shenanigans, i simply see Pearson as an upgrade from Armia, a lot better overall and slightly cheaper, if healthy he is basically what they hoped Armia would be when the habs gave him that contract.

Let’s not forget the ridiculous amount of defensemen Montreal has under contract, the bottleneck is kinda ridiculous, depending on the camp, maybe even a few more will enter the picture which will force the hand of the GM to make moves.

Pretty sure, that Armia and at least 2 defensemen (obviously Wideman) are on their way out … and thats before the season starts.

  3. Best case scenario would be he plays up to the potential and we get decent pick in return. A la almost Monahan

  4. Dvorak, give a kiss to my mother. Who knows what I’m talking about? 1 million points for anyone who gets it

  5. but will be able to profit from all those draft picks? Peeps aren't so happy about Mesar … a first round draft choice
    and others ….

  6. No need to sugar coat it. We don't need Pearson or the 3rd. Hughes did de Smith a favor. He gave him the opportunity to earn another contract.

  7. Your french version of Joshua Roy is spot on, but I love that you call him Wawa. Glad you hoped in the Wawa train! He will shine on Laval's first line and join the Habs by the end of the year. Go Wawa 😅

  8. At 4:33 you say that Jesse Ylonen is waiver exempt – in fact he is not. And in what world do you send Kaiden Guhle to Laval, even on paper??
Dvorak out till November may open a path for Lias Anderson.

  9. On the contrary, GM love trading with Hughes. He keeps solving other teams issues, either by facilitating 3 way trades or patching their line ups of helping others cap issues.

What makes him a genius, is that he always makes sure to bank a little net positive asset each time. Other GM's are happy, we are happy, and you add all these little net positive it's stacks up to a bright young prospect pool, a ton of draft pick and a well rounded and super manageable cap space for when our window open to finally push to bring back a cup home.

  10. I would love it if the Habs managed to trade Pearson at the deadline for yet another pick.
