The Leafs wrap up day one of the free agency frenzy by acquiring Ryan Reaves and John Klingberg as their two main pieces…. I think it’s safe to say that it hasn’t been the hottest of starts for Brad Treliving as General manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs… but we’ll see how it turns out. let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.

I gave Treliving free agency his truly first impression. Well that was a very underwhelming first day. Treliving set the tone for the direction this team is headed.

Getting Reaves was a great move but a waste at the same time . The Leafs have been the softest team in the NHL so Reaves is exactly what they needed but the problem is not his age or the term it is that he will not be used and will sit in the press box all year like they did to Simmonds . Schenn was over paid but better than what they replaced him with . There is no excuse what so ever for Cookie not being a Leaf next year and ROR wanted out of Toronto because he has issues with how Keefe coaches . Not happy one bit Shanahan should of been given the boot with his little buddy Dubas because they made this mess together .
Dumb take and he's 36. Leafs wanted him and was the only way to get him was a 3 year deal. You can bury him in the minors if it doesn't work out + he can still smash anyone if the face in this league

Leafs should have signed Schenn. The core 4 needs to be broken up. Letting Accari walk was just plain stupid imho. Reaves can fight but can he actually play?
I’ve said it before; letting Dubas go was the dumbest move possible. Treliving is going to prove me right with every move he makes. I think Dubas in Pittsburgh is going to make Shanahan look like the idiot he revealed himself to be. We’ve just stepped back in time to the former ineptness Toronto has been saddled with from Ballard and the last iteration of Punch Imlach to Mike Babcock. There goes any hope of Toronto seeing another Stanley Cup in my lifetime. Toronto is now a much worse team than it was a few weeks ago with no hope and no plan for recovery. Treliving may be a good hockey man, Shanahan too, but neither of them are blessed with the key trait you need to build a great team: VISION.

the only ones who are pissed are the ones who’ve never played on a team, Reaves adds something leafs haven’t had in decades. Strength and he’s the most hype player in the nhl leafs we’re in DESPERATE need of energy in the lockeroom it literally looked like the most boring stuck up thing ever reavo will loosen it up. Klingberg is great too bc if you’ve watched any game of the leafs last year you’d see how shit the d were at moving the puck. I’m prob the biggest schenn fan but he wasn’t worth even remotely close to his contract he could hardly catch up to gio if they signed him for 3yrs at 2.75 thatd be sm worse than klingbergs contract
i’m guessing you don’t watch leaf’s much, Klingberg will take the pp1 spot. Mo lost that spot to Sandin,lily and brodie in the regular season last yr. He’s not as good as ppl put him out to be especially offensively klingberg is the much better puck moving dman.
