  1. If I wanted an honest opinion on a car, the salesman would be the last person I'd ask. Everything this guys agent says about him means absolutely nothing to me

  2. Nikita Gusev had 82 points in the KHL last year .Ilya Mikheyev had 45. They both played 62 games. The Leafs haven't hit on a European free agent yet. HE'S ANOTHER STIFF

  3. "for whatever reason, he didn't get drafted" What?! Not exactly praise is it. I think the kid will be happy to get a 2way contract, so would his agent who was laying it on pretty thick. So after Mitch Marner signs, where's Mikey going to play. Not exactly a lot of spots open after Hyman gets back, after Johnsson and Moore on the Leafs Left side eat up the 2nd and 3rd line spots; kids only going to get 6-8min a game playing on 4th line with Gauthier and Spezza. [I think it's hilarious that people think Johnsson will lose out playing with Matthews on the 2nd line- Johnsson is 20goal scorer and has a 3.4M per year contract. Johnsson isn't a bottom 6 guy. LOL!!

  4. another pathetic sportnet report. This guy is a "superstar" in the making like Alyn McCauley, Clarke Mc Arthur, Luke Schenn, Jake Gardiner, Nic antropov , Alexei Ponikarovsky,
Mikhail Grabovski, Bryan McCabe, Leo Komarov, Nikita Zaitsev and every other future hall of famer to don the Blue and White.

  5. He's a decent power forward with good speed, balance, and edges, decent shot and average hands. He's basically a better skating Antropov. Not game changer but should fit in to the top 6 at best, bottom 6 more likely.

  6. The claims would be easier to believe if A.) We could factor in larger ice B.) We could gauge the speed of the KHL game vs the NHL C.) If the guy promoting Ilya sounded a little less like the guy I buy used tires from on Kjijji. That said its a good bet, if the kid has a good head on his shoulders in addition to great wheels and good hands. Coming from there to here isn't easy for some of these young unsophisticated kids. Seems to me that NHL teams need to do more to acclimatize young Russians to all English in the dressing rooms and life in North America in general. The intense spotlight they play under in Toronto can be intimating.
