The current alternate captains are Eberle, Schwartz, Gourde, and Larsson.
IMO this makes it more likely that they name Beniers captain next summer after he signs his (hopefully long term) next contract after his ELC expires.
Don’t fix what ain’t broke.
Eventually, they’ll transition from “captain by committee” to “captain by Matty” but there’s no need to rush it.
