Seems like everyone who might be traded is linked to Sabres. Kane, Zegras, Thompson etc. Baseless rumor's.
Giving up benson for zegras would be ridiculously stupid. Man is overrated af. Hes great dont get me wrong but Benson will be twice the player he is. Rosen/kulich + Ostlund and a first max.

Why trade for him, offer sheet him as hes RFA.😊 No way Zegras lands in Buffalo by offer sheet as first theres collusion amongest all the GMs and secondly Anahiem would match it if Adams did offer sheet zegras as the Ducks have 16 million in cap room. Theres also no way Adams trades for Zegras as the price would be MASSIVE . Not to mention Adams has only 8 million in cap room, yes Jost Olofsson Girgenson Jokiharju Bryson and Okposso come off the books next summer but Dahlin Power Krebs and Middelstadt will be looking for new contracts next season.The last thing Adams needs is another 7plus million dollar forward on his roster .

Zegras trade rumor is total BS. Why? We don’t need another young forward.
Zegras would be nice, but would he make the team better. Probably not. I would be more interested in Jamie Drysdale who is also an unsigned RFA in Anaheim and would make our team better.

Adams has been consistent on what he feels about his goalies. I've seen enough from both Comrie last October and the huge stretch UPL had last winter.Better D will be the key.
The biggest joke was what Paul Hamilton said about a deal including Cozens, a prospect and a 1st 😂 Zegras isn't even worth Cozens straight up 😂

I blame team defense for the lack of numbers from UPL a lot of the time in both the AHL and NHL. There were nights where the team in front of him was terrble and he stood on his head and some nights where he just overcommitted to his lateral movements and looked like a fish outta water and not in the Hasek kinda way 😂 i think if the team plays better D as a whole, the numbers will get better. I feel like a light bulb went off for UPL andhe is still very young and can bounce back in a big way
I like Zegras but deff sovoire and benson won’t be included in my package to aquire him. I’d trade next years 2nd pick, luke(goalie ) isak Rosen and oloffson

im not a big fan of zegras, but playing with line combinations with zegras, pretty cool stuff.
I think I'd put Olofsson in the deal 1. because he's a scorer… 2. He was a healthy scratch too much last year.. 3. moving him opens a spot on the NHL club too, as well as his cap hit is moved.. Throw in one of the top youngsters like a Rousek or Rosen… Ducks suddenly keep some scoring, get a young player that is looking good and everyone can be happy.. even their fanbase…
i dont think pat verbeek wants zegras in his core, and wants to swap him… kevyn better be careful here.. you dont want to build a prospect pool and let the first guy you see reach in his hand into the cookie jar. i think they are looking at savoie.
As Much as id rather GMKA get a Goalie ill entertain Zegras trade. Zegras is an RFA and trading an RFA in his bracket will Cost automatically a 1st a 2nd and a 3rd pick. So 3 picks Viktor Olofsson and Noah Ostlund. 5 pieces

Rosen is showing massive improvements in defensive play that is creating more offense for himself. I wouldn’t trade him like a lot of people in the comments are suggesting. No way with Savoie or Benson either.
I hope we see a move for another goalie but Joe I think you are wrong to conclude that the number one reason we missed the playoffs was because of goaltending. Yes it needs to improve but the number one problem of the team was horrible team defense. If we don’t improve that it doesn’t matter who is in goal. We would get destroyed in the playoffs if we even make it there. Fortunately I think they are really going to work on this this year. This is also normal for young teams.
We just finished getting rid of our locker room cancers, why would we risk it for a guy who definitely wouldn’t want to play here and is rumored to be a problem in the locker room?
If they were to trade for Zegras, they can not only sign him before Power, but it can’t be more that Thompson or Cozens. This would cause rifts in the locker room that they’ve worked hard to rid themselves of.
We have enough skilled forwards who dont play good team defence. We need a top 4 dman..penalty killers..fast gritty bottom 6 guys..an established nhl goalie to pair with levi. Thats what we need to spend our prospects on.
Zegras is so overrated. No way is he worth 2 1st round equivalents.

I wonder if the Sabres can turn this into a bigger trade with the Ducks. Can the Sabres get Gibson and Zegras in a trade. This will require money going back as well. So the Sabres send Mittelstadt, Olofsson, Comrie, Östlund, Rosen, and Johnson to the Ducks? If the Ducks trade Gibson they must take Salary back to reach the floor so thats why I put Mittelstadt, Olofsson and Comrie into the trade. Then I give the Ducks 3 very good prospects for Zegras. Its a lot going out. However Gibson can start in net for Buffalo with Levi in Rochester and UPL as the back up. Then you switch UPL and Levi if Levi is ready. Gibson also gives Levi 4 years to develop without needing Levi to shoulder everything.
Zegras if he is willing to take a team friendly contract at 8 years for 6 Million could make this team even better long term. You are talking 3 very good offensive lines with this trade and a goalie, which will put us into the playoff picture easily and could in 2 years be a cup contender if Zegras takes the team friendly contract like other Sabres have.
If Dahlin can also take Makar contract as well as power something close to Makar. This team will be good for years to come. They could be a cup contender for 6+ years.
Like you stated. Sabres were a top 5 offense. If Zegras is a better faceoff…..maybe. But I'd rather find a talented 2 way center with better defensive skills.
