  1. I don't care what anyone says. I want this guy to do well this season. At least to the point where he becomes a really slick piece of trade bait at the trade deadline. But until then, I REALLY hope he has that season he needs to have.

  2. Tyler Myers is so important to this team. If he gets moved you will miss having such a big talent on the back end.

  3. I love Myers as a guy and as a presence in the lockerroom, he just needs a lesser role. If you could put Cole with him on the third pairing, that would be great.

  4. Donnie and Dhali are respectable journalists, unlike pretty much every other Canucks reporters.

  5. Tyler Myers as a 3rd pairing D-man is top 10% of 3rd pairing right shot guys. He will perform elite for minimal duty.

Notice something about Myers. He does worse the more minutes he gets. Anything over 17 minutes he makes big mistakes, ala the Gaffe Giragge memes.

Myers will do great, and he will feel stronger and better against slightly less competent competition.

  6. I can only imagine how hard it is to skate when you're 6'5". There's a reason why figure skaters are short. If the Canucks can avoid being destroyed by injuries on the blueline and these 3rd paring defencemen they brought in can play higher in the roster, Myers won't be forced to play long minutes in tough matchups every night this season.

  7. Hopefully with the new defensive help he will learn to play on his skates. I coached young kids for awhile and I always taught them to stay on their feet. If your skates are under you then you have a chance to make a move. With a reach like he has no one should be able to get around him. The other problem is he plays out of position in the O-Zone way to much and then you are expecting a forward to come back to cover where he should have been when he loses the puck behind the other teams net.

  8. Interview shows why guys like him so much. Really nice person and intelligent. Great conversation, even when he's guarded for the media he is very respectful.

  9. Long time canucks fan……….Myers gets trolled yet if you look at his stats hes a consistent/dependable player.

The one problem i have is he doesnt use his size. He doesnt have the stick skills to outplay competition. Buts that's not why he was picked. At 6'8 he was picked to use size as a checking force. Yet he rarely does so. I wanna see less puck handling and more body checks from him this season.

  10. What do we do if he's sitting on 8-10 G at the trade deadline and we have a playoff spot?

  11. ok Myers leads the team every year in 2 minute penalties and is top 15 in the league for a team with a bad pk, he averages 1 goal a year for a guy signed for his two way play. he does not hit, clear nets, and his attempted rushes go absolutely no where and just having forwards cover his ass, only to have it turned around to a odd man rush with a forward back, Ok now is the real bad part and that's his giveaways and blind passes up the middle i counted close to 34 giveaways last year and lumme was never that bad and averaged about 5 in 82 games. Drance said he was good in the back half on the pk was that when demko came back? Sorry boys this guy is a complete liability and must have dirt on everyone because he has avoided the axe every year somehow. if you look at his WAR stats he is the worst dman in the league and thats the facts.
