Vlasic on shutting down McDavid: Got to take away time and space
San Jose Sharks defeceman Marc-Edouard Vlasic talks about what it takes to be effective against someone like Connor McDavid and coach Peter DeBoer talks about the outstanding play of his defenceman.
Well it's a combination of him being a quality experienced high level d-man, and McDavid's learning curve in playoff hockey, against last year's cup finalist. When he started his first season in the NHL, Connor was average at best. It took him time to adapt but the pace in which he did so was super impressive. I expect the same in the playoffs. As the series and future match ups progress, McDavid will become unstoppable.
As an oilers fan I tip my hat to Vlasic/Braun, they shutdown McDavid. We won thanks to secondary scoring. I think McDavid will explode against Anaheim… They do not have as good of a pair as Vlasic/Braun
