Hoglander has mad skills, but his shot hasn't been hard enough to beat a half decent NHL goalie. All his goals are on the deflection or deking past the goalie, and if he can take the punishment would be great at tipping pucks in front of the net or in the shootout. I hope that he's worked on his shot power in the offseason.
That exchange between Dhali on Drance on Hoglander was quite a gem… from seeing Drance's expression changed when Dhali said Hoglander couldn't get a prominent role under Travis Green… it was ON! And Dhali actually seemed upset for real…
Pettersson's attitude is definitely not Captain material ! If people think Greedy Petey is staying in Vancouver, they just might end up disappointed. For example, Dawson Mercer was asked about his upcoming RFA status and he replied : " I love it here, they are the team that drafted me." Pettersson is showing his annoyance with Vancouver media, and his salty attitude sounds a lot like someone who is not planning on signing a contract in Vancouver. I would prefer to trade him at some point for next year's 1st overall pick (Macklin Celebrini). It's time the Canucks see the writing on the wall, and show Pettersson there is no reward for acting like a spolied, and entitled jerk.
lines (& lineups, & rosters) change constantly throughout the season – does it really matter who starts on which lines on game 1, & will anybody remember by game 82 (when some players will have come & gone by then) ?
Drance is my favorite of your regular guests, would love to have a beer with the guy! Chris (Faber?) from that Canucks blog you have on sometimes is a phenomenal interview too.
Thomas drance the most over rated reporter in oro sports. All mouth no substance. He has a gift for yelling alot and saying nothing we don't already know.
