I love the Sens but that seems rather optimistic lol

  2. brendan87na

that’s… pretty bullish on the Flames

  3. > Vancouver: Make Playoffs – 83.6%

    Yeah, no.

That’s the goal, but failure is always an option for Vancouver.

What the fuck is up with their Eastern odds? Toronto is only 6% more likely than us, and New Jersey 9%?

Wait, I didn’t even notice Calgary at the top. Are those odds based on last night’s game?

  4. tristan1616

I think the Flames will make the playoffs too but certainly not at those odds. This list is completely underestimating Vegas, LA and Seattle

  5. electricnux

5th in the conference…I have to laugh

  6. itoadaso1

Flames are an advanced stats dynasty with absolutely no hardware to show for it lol

  7. ratedPG44

Feels like this didn’t factor in goalies all that much

  8. dolewhiplash

Vegas wins the cup, changes basically nothing, and now has a 50% chance of making the playoffs?

  9. Maclammy

    ^Plz ^don’t ^put ^too ^much ^pressure ^on ^us…

  10. dudewithchronicpain

The Sabres disrespect and Flames love is unbelievable

  11. Feb2020Acc

I get that Chicago has been gutted, but the arrival of Bedard has to make them better than absolute last?

  12. AdamFoxxx

I choose to like this simply because of the isles projection. But I know that at the end of the season we’ll all come back here and laugh.

  13. Captain_Naps

    From datadrivenhockey:
*Well here it is. The final power rankings bracket. The Bruins will be the 2023 Stanley Cup Champions.*

  14. MN_Lakers

We will make the playoffs and we WILL lose in the first round. Don’t you doubt us.

  15. NurmGurpler

Maybe I am a Sabres homer, but 13% seems pretty low lol

  16. aramiak

Hahaha! YEAH! Only third from bottom! Screw you, naysayers!

  17. LVAthleticsWSChamps

Flyers and Blackhawks in a competition for 1OA…..I don’t like this

  18. abs0lutelypathetic

I knew OP was gonna be a Sens fan lmfao

  19. Data Driven Hockey must be on the bottle or something. Horrid predictions, should definitely rethink themselves.

  20. BARDLER

Excuse me what? The Sabres are not going to be the 4th worst team in the East.

  21. stonayoung

No team should have a playoff probability percentage over 95% or below 5%. Hockey is too random to say a team has a 99.7% or 0% to make the playoffs

  22. BleedingTeal

29 wins for San Jose? Who’s gonna score all the goals for those wins? Because it sure won’t be our goalies stealing those games…

  23. If the Flames win the conference I will shit on my floor and post it in r/hockey. Someone save this and call me out if it happens

  24. karmyscrudge

What year is this from? Obviously it can’t be this year

  25. TodayOk4239

99.7% pre-season chance for a team to make the playoffs might be the most bonkers part of this chart. I don’t care how good you think Carolina is, there’s definitely a more than 1 in 300 chance that they get ravaged by injuries, get unlucky in close games, and/or get bad goaltending and miss the playoffs.

  26. Censorshipprevails

Buffalo 13th in the east?? Hahaha

  27. coltonjeffs

Canucks and Ottawa FINALLY getting the respect we don’t deserve!

  28. The-420-Chain-Smoker

Proof that when you have a bad formula, advanced stats don’t mean shit

  29. FloralAlyssa

Mathematically eliminated before the season starts seems on brand for the Flyers.

  30. AwesomeIslander918

This guy’s model is absolutely awful. I’m pretty sure this is the same guy whose model said that Arvidsson is better than Draisaitl. I think Calgary is good but 98.6% is crazy.

  31. Crazy_Canuck_8888

This shit is always hilarious. Does a monkey pick this or what. Lol

  32. flare2000x

How is Ottawa so high and Buffalo so low – and that’s only one thing crazy with this chart.

  33. ObjectiveSubjects

Chicago and Philly fans: “So you’re telling me there’s a ch- *oh*”

  34. NotTheRocketman

LOL who did Vancouver bribe for these results?

  35. This might be the absolute dumbest projection list I’ve ever seen

  36. Beechsack

    1. Make infographic.
    2. Provide zero info about methodology or reasoning.
    3. Call it DATA DRIVEN ANALYTICS!

    Get out of here.
