I mean, this is how itā€™s been for ages. Local networks get exclusivity rights, itā€™s the incentive that sells their network. They say right from the start with this service that itā€™s for out of market games.

Canā€™t watch the oilers pre season games because itā€™s either only on the oilers website( and a monthly fee) or itā€™s blacked out

Hey, the microwave display shows up in HD. I’ve had it for years, it’s easily the most reliable way for me to catch out of market games. And it fucking reheats pizza!

I find it ridiculous that in BC I canā€™t watch a Flames or an oilers game (not that I want to) on Sportsnet because itā€™s blacked out. I live in BC so surely Iā€™m not able to go to the game. Why are they blacking these games out unless itā€™s a national game night? I get when a game is blacked out for a home team if itā€™s not sold out and they want more fans to show up. But in todayā€™s day and age there shouldnā€™t be any blackouts. Period.

    “ready” i’ve already experienced this

Why do they do this? Why canā€™t I watch a game in my area? I donā€™t understand

I live in Germany and got this last year. Pretty much every 2nd game i wanted to watch was blacked out. Never buying this shit again. Im fine with youtube recaps.

  8. It’s so crazy how in a world that is all connected now, we are making efforts to localize content. This whole broadcast system feels so due for an overhaul.
