Towards the end of the game many Canucks forwards never bothered to help out the defensemen with coverage, justifiable in that blowout but if this is going to be a pattern with players like Raty, that would be why Vancouver has negative defense…
This game is a "welcome to the NHL" for the non regulars. Give them an idea of where they are and where they need to be to contribute to the team.

Vancouver does the same thing every year. Everyone else dresses a half decent or legitimate lineup and Vancouver dresses quarter of a team or less. Pre season ends and the team is already used to lossing 80% of their games and… We go into the regular season on a massive emotional slump. Poor planning. Confidence is NEEDED. We dont need to see how Irwin and Jullsen look. No one cares and they wont play more then 7 games. Get your shit together Rick T.

It is interesting to see the difference in level of play between 2/3 of an NHL team and an AHL team. Gives a better appreciation of hard good these guys are.

Not a mean nothing game. AHL teams are not amateurs, they should have had been some competitive pushback. They just gave up. Bad team optics as these are the guys the management calls the future.

Yes, a preseason game. But that Canucks management would do this to their developing players speaks volumes. This is a deeply dysfunctional organization that needs to be rebuilt from the special double assistant to the assistants all the way to the top.
