Tim Bresnan’s Spell of Reverse Swing at the MCG 2010

On what was now a very flat and slow wicket Tim Bresnan bowled a superb spell of accurate and fast reverse swing to rip the heart out of the Australian batting line up and put the Ashes firmly in the grab of the English. Brought in to replace the leading wicket taker of the series Steven Finn Bresnan kept things tight and built the pressure on the Australian batsmen. He had Shane Watson LBW, Rick Ponting bowled and Mike Hussey LBW. After the Hussey dismissal he had figures of 3-11 of 10.5 overs.

  1. Did anyone notice when shane watson got out score was 99 nd ponting was on 16 runs aus trailing by 316 nd when ponting got out he was on 20 but aus score was 102 if ponting would ve hit four score should be 103 with aus trailing by 312 but scoreboard say 313 nd aus on 102 nd when hussey got out clarke was playing on 4 aus score was 103 wht the heck is goin on scoreboard error

  2. Tim Bresnan; the all-rounder who was a mediocre bowler and number 9 batsman! This was his best spell ever, but Christ he was like the new Chris Lewis, needed to swap his batting and bowling averages around… Also very thick.

  3. 0:37 is the best look at reverse swing. For all yous that dont know what it is, its basically when the ball swings in the opposite way to where the seam is facing. You'll see the seam is facing for a out-swinger to watson but it actually comes back the other way and gets him LBW. Some of the best reverse swing you'll ever see footage of

  4. Only first ball was bit reverse swingged.. other balls are just normal balll

  5. I can watch that section of bowling to Hussey and hearing someone shout "Catch!" before Bell does just that for days. My guess is that it was Strauss.
