The NHL is more of a game of chess compared to juniors, which is more of a game of checkers. We have people who can fully play checkers, but the game of chess is a lot more important.
Not gonna lie, it took my out-of-practice West-Island-Anglo-now-living-in-the-US brain a second to remember that he was talking about chess and checkers, so my initial and obviously profoundly wrong brainfart was

I was like “Marty holy SHIT NO” before it clicked rofl. Amazing quote

I liked the quote before that one when he spoke about NHL players having to see ahead of the play by looking at the open space while CHL players focus on the players. (I’m paraphrasing)
To add, I guess it’s a processing speed thing. The higher the level, the more important hockey IQ needs to be.

I’m biased but I think the players should also play a little Chess for homework, there’s a lot of lessons there
