The Toronto Maple Leafs were held to another loss in preseason with the Ottawa Senators coming away with a 4-3 overtime win but there were encouraging signs in the game. Mike DiStefano and David Morassutti give their thoughts on what they liked and didn’t like about the game. With David in attendance, he provided some insight from what he saw from Tyler Bertuzzi and John Klingberg in their first look in a game since joining the Leafs. Mike and Dave highlight how Easton Cowan left his mark and provides a lot of intrigue going forward and potential given what showed the coaching staff. My key stand out player tonight for my Leafs Easton Cowan bright future for this kid. Nick Robertson looked ok but really needs to keep his head up almost got rocked. Am looking forward for the regular season GO LEAFS GO

Cowan is smart and he has wheels. There was a play late in the third where a pass was rifled through. Instead of receiving the pass he chipped it forward off his stick allowing him to dash forward.
I know it’s only been 2 pre sea games but right now I’d take Cowan over Knies. Cowan seems much more offensively and defensively aware and skates much better. Knies is a big strong body but that’s about it. Sorry leafs fans I know he supposed to be the prodigy and i am pulling for him too. Maybe both guys will work out.
From what I've seen Robertson is not a NHL quality player. The way he skates, bent over, is not good. He's going to get crunched along the boards. Trade him now. Also trade WN. They can't lose him for nothing. Great last year. They might get a real good young winger or center with control.
Don't know what it was like in person but on TV the crowd looked dead. I guess that they are also in pre-season mode.
