It’s Tuesday and the NHL preseason has begun, which means Locked on Boston Bruins host Ian McLaren is updating the Atlantic Division Power Rankings.
The Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings still dwell in the basement, but are the Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres going to be good enough to bump one of the top four? Are the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning deep enough to contend? Can the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers hang on to wild card spots?
Plus, a look at the lineup for tonight’s preseason game against the Buffalo Sabres, where there’s plenty on the line for some Bruins looking to grab a spot on the opening night roster.

Sabers fan here. good show. I agree with your rankings for the Atlantic division this year. My predictions are Toronto has the best record. Montreal has the worst with Detroit having the next worst record. As far as teams two through six, its anybody’s guess. that’s what it really gets interesting. Where you Have them ranked sounds about right though.
