I love it, personally. It gives the team its identity and some swagger.

If you ask me the most important guys to our success are going to be those middle 6 veterans. Copp, Compher, Fabbri specifically. Our calling card is going to have to be our depth scoring so these guys are gonna have to put up offensive pressure every night.

Makes me think of the article a couple years back, NHL from first to Islanders. Then the Islanders came out and were one of the top teams in the league that year.
Let’s be that team this year! LGRW!

Well this is better than when he came out during our good start last year and said we stink, maybe he has been attending some motivational speaker seminars.

Imo, this will be the best NHL team that Dylan Larkin has ever played for. They filled the weak spots, the top talent is maturing and there’s a depth that we haven’t seen in ages. And, they were only out of the playoffs by a couple games (before selling at the deadline) last year.
They still have a lot to learn but I expect the Wings to overachieve this year.

Need Lalonde to channel some of those Dan Campbell vibes. LGRW!
They really are. I think our depth is massively being over looked. The Detroit Redwings will ice an entire NHL lineup every game this season. One with actual decent depth at forward positions. Yea we don’t have a knock your socks off elite talent but teams have done plenty fine that look just like ours. The depth will be the difference this year.

>On defense, there is competition for the fifth/sixth spots. Chiarot’s absence might put him behind Justin Holl in the pecking order.
This is kind of interesting. I thought given their contracts these guys would have to be locks, but it sounds like they’re going to be fighting to be on that last pairing. Interesting especially given how much both players were utilized last season (Holl with the Leafs). I am very much in the camp of “Chiarot is bad but not as bad as people say,” but putting out a 3rd pairing of Chiarot-Holl sounds like a disaster. A very slow disaster.
From the part that talks about defense it sounds like our opening night pairs could be(?):
