Excellent report–Senators really need to get Pinto signed, camps are open,pre-season games are being played and they need to get him going along with the team to know what could be. The examples of bad coaching you cited are just horrible, mistreatment of players is always bad for team morale and productivity. Nylander asking price is too high IMHO, but, I've been wrong before–I do agreee that the Ducks might be the right place for him to go.

Junior players have been abused forever and a day by coaches who abuse their positions as being an avenue to the pro game. Kids are afraid to say anything out of fear of being blackballed from future opportunities.
Thank God the Nuckies pissed away a shot at drafting a home town generational talent, by winning all those meaningless games down the stretch last season, in order to build towards a winning culture. Otherwise they may have lost that game in Calgary 17-0.
If I’m Pinto, I’m sitting there going. Why did you jump to bring in Tarasenko, when you still had to get your own house in order? He was kind of treated like last on the list of priorities this summer in Ottawa. Honestly if it’s going to cost you a 1st rounder or a top end prospect to create the space to keep Pinto, then maybe just deal him, instead of trading for space. He can’t be happy in the situation with it dragging out this long after the decent season he had. Sure he’s a good young player, but you’re going to lose some of those here, and there in the salary cap world. Especially when you have the abundance of young assets the Senators are currently blessed with. Losing Formenton over the juniors situation is a real tough break for the Sens. He would have filled that empty slot on the left side, and they most likely wouldn’t have needed to blow their cap on Tarasenko had that not occurred.
Yes we've ALL seen him give up on plays and not really care about playing both sides of the puck… I don't think we're getting an Eichel level of return. The Leafs need to save that cap space and use it for Bertuzzi

Eichel was 24 when he was traded, had a contract and a 1C. Nylander is 28 by year end and unsigned. Not comparable

Mike, nothing personal my guy… I think your take on some of these "behavioral issues" is way too prudish. This is the highest level of junior hockey. Wearing sweaty gear for 4 hrs is certainly not "torture". Some coaches want to send a message with a memorable punishment. The idea that he should lose his profession over it is nonsense.
Hockey players are so weak and pathetic nowadays! Bunch of prima donna crybabies. Lmao. Making the team sit together in their hockey gear is not exactly torture, lol. Modern day hockey players wouldn't last a week 25 years ago. How TF are coaches supposed to coach players nowadays? Hold their hand, singing your praises, positive thoughts… It's pro hockey for chrissake.🤦♂️
On what planet is Nylander worth the same as Eichel??? Age, contract status, and center vs winger, no chance he is worth the same

I have a feeling the hawks are gonna make a move for Nylander if he’s still a leaf by the off-season. I think the package will be a little lighter than the eichel package but a roster player and a prospect or two for sure. I can see them trying to put talent around Bedard. Anaheim lowballing Zegras makes me believe they won’t want to spend big money on Nylander
You think hard rebuilding Anaheim is a good fit for a 28 yo UFA who'll want 9-10M? Dude…
