[Hockey News Hub] Bogdan Konyushkov (24:39) leads all KHL defensemen in TOI/G- even ahead of stud Alexander Nikishin (24:27). Larionov believing in this kid is HUGE for his confidence and development – and it’s paying off. You got a good one.

Wont be available to us for like 3-4 years unless he breaks contract. It’s exciting but disappointing at the same time lol

Remember that Chris Wideman won defenseman of the year in the KHL, albeit being older. This is still a really good sign, but never a guarantee of success in the NHL

After all, what is Montreal without a good Russian D prospect?

Tell me he isn’t Andrei Markov and I will know you are a liar.

Very good, but please keep in mind that the KHL is not as strong as it uses to be. It is league behind the AHL at this point (see graph in the last in r/hockey). We also have a former best defenseman from the KHL and…lets just say its Chris Wideman.

Oh joy, more defensive prospects. I know I should be happy, but at what point is it a problem to have too much of one thing?

Honestly I completely glossed over this pick when Habs first drafted him as a “whatever who cares” but the more I see, the more interesting he is. Could potentially work out and make it to the NHL if all goes well enough
