    I got to know Gord Robertson a ilttle while living in Trail B.C., & he was on the Edmonton Mercury's in 1952 when they won the gold medal in hockey for Canada @ the winter olympics in Oslo Norway…. Classy guy.., always wore a cowboy hat! I gave him a Canadian one for his birthday Gord passed on October 10th, 2019 R.I.P. Gord

    I remember that goal from 1972, it was truly historic–Best to Cory Schneider in retirement. Tad surprised that Ryan Dzingel got released from his PTO so quickly, but, I suspect he'll get a minor league deal at least from someone, maybe an AHL -only deal.

    Re: The Summit Series and Henderson's series clinching goal: What a memorable day to commemorate the greatest goal in Canadian hockey history. I know Crosby had the "golden goal" at the Olympics but it pales in comparison to Henderson's series clincher against the vaunted Russians. I watched every game of that series growing up in Nova Scotia….on the edge of my seat with my dad and brother for every game…I was 14 years old…..the whole nation literally shut down on those days when games were played. There was so much drama and excitement. It remains the most thrilling hockey I have ever seen….PERIOD!!!!! Just listen to Phil Esposito talk about the series….even to this day he say it was so much more than a hockey series….it was Canada vs Russia on so many levels and we snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in the final minute of Game 8 proving that we are the greatest hockey nation in the world…..still are!!!!! Boooooyyyaaaahhhhh!!!!!!

    Bob Stauffer said the Oilers are going to be making a trade soon, but no other details. Thoughts? Seems likely they're trying to avoid losing Lavoie or Niemelainen on waivers, but any possibility they move both?
