6. Either NJ or LA will win GM of year if they can land Hellebuck,Gibson, Thompson(VGK), Or my Wild card Vejmalka. If NJ or LA can pick up a goalie, I'd re look at My predictions .

This year everyone seems to be on the same page but I see Nyi,Cgy,Stl,Buf as dark horses just to mention 1 team from each division.
Usually each year their is a 2-4team turnover for playoffs.
Last year I didn't even have Bos making the playoffs lol. I'm still rolling with that because maybe I'm predicting a trend a year or 2 in advance. I perdictied the Wsh and Pit fallout 2 years ago. It's very hard to make the playoffs every year.

As for the east.
Once again i expect the Leafs to lay an egg once they hit the post season.
The aging Bruins ? do they have one more year in them and will they do anything when it counts?

I really don't get the comments on the avs. How is their depth looking like "loosing a step" when they literally are deeper then last season. They have actual scoring depth this year.
Dallas to win is a good bet. Their depth is better. Wyatt Johnson will continue to emerge. Duchene might be a sneaky good signing. If they win, though, it will be Heiskanen who makes the difference. Imo, Edmonton winning the cup is a pipe dream. Still no third line. Goaltending very questionable. Will the back end be better? It will have to be for them to have any chance.
As a Blues fan I'm not here to say we win the Central Division or anything
I just hate the idea of we "haven't had a ton of success the past couple seasons"….
2020: out in 1st in a whacked out Covid year
2021: out in 2nd after Game 6 and the previous antics/happenings
2022: DNQ first sub (record) season since 2007-2008
With 2005-2006 being the worst in my lifetime
We weren't good in spots but we definitely weren't the wreck of '05-'06
One thing doomed us last year
Going 10 and 10 in our first 20 games
3 game winning streak
8 game losing streak
I knew by the 6th loss we were done
It'll be VERY CRUCIAL for us NOT to repeat any slumps
Not even 2 2 game losses in 12 games
Those points come back to bite you as early as mid December
Our first 30 games will tell the story as to whether we're truly regressing longterm
Of those 30 games 14 are divisional
Arizona 4x
Winnipeg 2x
Colorado 2x
Chicago 2x
Dallas 2x
Nashville 1x
Minnesota 1x
If we can win 2 if not 3 from Arizona as well as (1 or) both from Colorado things will look a little different than bleak
Especially as the next 20 are all over the place

That's it for division play in the first 50 games
This being January 30th
So we may have our work cut out in some ppl's eyes but totally busted I can't say
There would have to be a cataclysmic start to even the first 15 games

If we take most from Arizona and hit Colorado or Dallas right even for 1 I'd those it'll be a huge boost
Of course what matters is what all 3 teams do away from eachother after in those first 30 games

The sabres got young guys that are getting better every game along with good vets and a good young goalie. I think they will shock a lot of people this year coming from a Chicago fan.
