What’s up guys,

Mainely Hockey Cards here and before every NHL season, I like to go over players who I find to be sleeper investments, and have the potential to break-out, or come out of seemingly nowhere. Maybe they do well, and maybe they don’t, but I love to speculate.

Here are 10 potential sleeper Young Guns to invest in for this coming year.

  1. I think another great investment for next season would be Filip Gustavsson. He’s going to be amazing next season I can feel it. The playoffs didn’t show how good he really is

  2. I agree with this analysis. I think Josh Norris is undervalued right now and may be the Best Buy on this list. Dillon Dube could be an honorable mention. He had a career year with Calgary.

  3. Denisenko should get playing time with the Panthers. Finally got my box of OPC platinum yesterday after ordering it 11 months ago, what a disappointment.

  4. Very good list. Right now Norris is a steal. He's going to e a great player. If he stays healthy and plays the whole season his rookie cards are going to jump a lot.
I'm really high on Podkolzin. Maybe not this year but soon he is going to be a star player. You can pick up his YG for well under 10 dollars USD.
Great insight and thanks for sharing.

  5. Josh Norris has done it already at this level and has the supporting cast with a nice new contract. Been buying up some good value when I find it. Love these YG / prospecting videos. Keep them coming!

  6. Thomas Novak- 43 points in 51 games for the Predators last season after over a PPG in the AHL. I regularly see his young guns for like 2-3 bucks

  7. Heard interesting concept that teams aren't going to mess with anyone (aka Carter Hart) that have ties to the Team Canada issues, see how his trade stock pans out.

  8. I wish I had a Carter Hart YG! He will be a stud! Maybe not a top 3-5 goalie, but he will definitely be in the top 10, and this is coming from a Pens fan lol. Thanks for sharing!

  9. I recently pulled a Byfield YG, a Byfield Rookie Materials, and a Byfield Program of Excellence Canvas Black, so I hope he pans out.

  10. I grabbed three Byfields and a Norris. Looking at a Sillinger and some Filip Gustavssons too. Not much to lose at their current prices. Thanks for this!

  11. I really like Norris as a sleeper and now that Newhook has been traded, maybe he will be better with the Canadiens.

  12. I like this list. I'll add Joel Farabee on PHI, Oliver Wahlstrom on NYI, Barret Hayton on ARI and Connor Ingram on ARI as players who should rise with playing time this year.

  13. My tips are also: Zach Werenski, Elvis Merzlikins, Bowen Byram, Filip Hronek, Calen Addison, Cam York and still counting on Gabe Vilardi.

  14. I know defenseman don't do that well but Jamie Drysdale's YGs go for pretty cheap and he should be a top 4 defenseman this year for the Ducks. Spent most of last year injured.
