I'm glad the Flames finally have a leader. With Darryl behind the bench, the Flames have been lost, and I think that is one of the reasons that the Flames fell off last year. Backs has been with us for 15+ years, and I'm glad that he will stick with us. He provides strenght and community outlook. He's the ultimate model. I'm glad that he's here for a while, and I think he deserves the C. My thoughts go out the Chris. It won't be the same without him next to Craig.
Best news I’ve heard all day. It would’ve been a travesty. If he wasn’t the captain of this team he is so important to the community as well too and losing him would’ve really sucked. Really glad that Connie got this done.

Bitter sweet day for the organization. Heartbreaking news about Chris Snow on one hand , but keeping a quality individual in the fold on the other. Mikael’s been a great asset to the team and to the city. So glad he’s choosing to stay , and glad he’s getting the well deserved “C”.
I lived in Kelowna when he was a Rocket so I've been lucky enough to cheer for him for most of his career. He deserves the C so much! Super happy for him. Bitter Sweet day to be a Flames fan, wish Snow the best.

It was only fitting that Mikael Backlund be named captain. He’s been with us since Iggy… That’s 16 years as a Flame.
