To be fair Marner is also a better player and Toronto doesn’t know how to negotiate team friendly deals. Not sure how that’s Floridas problem, Barkov’s contact seems alright for everyone involved.

Sharks fans are talking way more about Eklund making the team or the Hertl extension than the whole Kane things. Barkov doesn’t have to pay all the income tax that Marner pays. With this deal Barkov’s take home pay is probably greater. Which is what really matters.
