Shannon,even though,I am 75 years old,I have a similar injury,lumber spine,stenosis,pain shots don’t work,maybe for a few weeks!I worked as a laborer,for 46, years,at Midway airport,in Chicago!I also played goal,for 20 years,ain’t,no way with the way he plays the position,that he returns,to his old self!Expert,have told me any surgery is iffy! Pain,can be pretty,intense!He is a young man,so let,us hope for the best!Thanks,for all you do for the game!

Habs have 3 goalies (Primeau will need to clear waivers to go down). I think the Habs are wanting to go with Montembault as a starter, so they could be talked into trading Allen and get something back? Primeau as backup?

So this the year the atlantic flips and wr have different good teams for the first time aince 2017
TB is interesting right now. Vasilevskiy hurts and if they can't hold on early they can potentially miss the playoffs and if they miss the playoffs then Stamkos will not get a good contract offer and will posibly not be with TB next year
The only 2 free agents goalies with solid nhl experience are Halak and Elliott and as a Tampa fan no chance I want Elliott back so hopefully we can add Halak cheap or find a cap friendly trade

wow, thats sad news for TB…. nobody can fill his skates… Carolina has been using 3 goalies, maybe they'd part with Raanta? He had a great season last year as backup.
Tampa will need a solid backup now. It's not optional anymore. Does Halak still cut it?

I live in Tampa. Vask is the best goalie in the nhl. I do think that without him, 500. team. So it really would surprise me if we go in the mid season more then 5-7 game above 500.!
As a lightning fan to say that vasy being out is alarming news is a massive understament. There was already talk of the lightning missing the playoffs now this. Vasy being out is pretty much the kiss of death for the lightning.
Wonder why nobody seemed to know Vasy was injured? For whatever reason, the NHL seems to be really hush hush on injury status.

as a tampa fan i think this is the catalyst we needed to get a decent backup Goalie to give Vasy a needed break. we knew he was playing injured last season but only now finding out exactly what it was. i'm just hoping he takes enough time to be 100% before getting back out on the ice. our blue line will need to adjust and maybe focus on more shot blocking and that could also be good for us, not relying on vasy to carry the team all season would be nice.

I think Tampa will stand pat for a bit. If it looks like JJ/Alenefelt aren't up to the ask, could def see them trying to bring Elliott back or giving Halak a shot. They don't need them to be world beaters, just "good enough".
Anyone with coaching aspirations needs to monitor how coach Cooper handles the situation for Lightning losing a Vasina caliber candidate goalie for last 5 years. This is a really tough task for the team , Vassie is not someone that is going to be easy to replace. My prediction it goes one of 2 ways 1)Lightning miss the playoffs because Vassies injury leads to a domino effect where other players try too hard to compinsate for his loss and only to get an injury to another key player on team we see this a lot especially in hockey or 2) Lightning tread water staying at .500 and sneak in to the playoffs and have similar success like the other FLA team had last year. As a betting man take the Lightning to miss the playoffs sorry Bolts fans you already got 2 cups!!!

I have the same exact injury as Vasy (except I dont have millions of dollars for surgery) and it sucks, a lot. Did he get a disc replacement? Otherwise it's just steroid injections into your spine every few months depending on the discomfort/pain.
So wait a minute, on Vasilevskiy's injury….when did this happen? Last year? During the off season? this year? Where are the detail on that?

Looks like after those emails leaked, Gruden changed sports…no surprise someone that old got cut.
There has been a report that Vasy was hurt back to mid last season im glad he’s getting it taken care of ( assuming it’s the same injury) but the only objective now is survival and watching the bandwagons cry doomsday which is already happening but 🤷🏻♂️. The thing I’m more nervous about and what I want most is Stamkos to be resigned. He deserves to retire as a Bolt whenever that day comes and I don’t want a Vinny or St.Louis situation
