Cancer survivor taunted at Edmonton Oilers game in LA receives outpouring of support

After a cancer survivor was bullied while watching the Edmonton Oilers game in Los Angeles last weekend, the fan bases in both cities turned it into an opportunity to raise money for sick children.

Cecily Eklund is a 10-year-old cancer survivor who has raised nearly $100,000 for children with cancer.

  1. ….."emotions running high?"
No excuse for these pitiful adults to behave like animals to a little girl who is a CANCER SURVIVOR.
They should all be absolutely hunted down and punished to the full extent of the law.

  2. I wonder what they would do if she was screaming like a banshee like the girl did in Toronto?

  3. There is absolutely no excuse for this. Even if they where drunk or high. They should know better who was ever involved in this.

  4. And this is what we have become or some of us, and this is humanity nowadays, ridiculous just ridiculous.

  5. Tbh
about 10 years ago I took my daughter to an oilers an habs game because she played ringette an liked Carey Price . So I bought her his jersey an we went an she got could all kinds of names from Oiler fans.
So I told security at the oilers game an they told me they can’t do anything, maybe your daughter should take the jersey off… well that didn’t happen an Habs won the game…
so fast forward my daughter is a nurse now an has learned that loving or caring about something is your person choice an don’t be one of those ignorant ppl because everyone one is different

  6. What a shame. I'm all for a little boisterous behaviour but you don't mess with kids. Even when their parents are real pieces of work.

  7. I can't say that I'm surprised, I hear Los Angeles is a real hellscape these days. My guess is that her being a cancer survivor was only mentioned to tug at some heartstring, because it's irrelevant to the story. Everything I've come to expect from a virtue signaling propaganda outlet.

  8. Hockey excitement seems to push some people to an almost psychotic state where they don't think before they speak. Quite sick.

  9. Just sick but what do you expect from Americans especially people from LA

  10. I had the honor of meeting cecily before game 5, she is a very kind hearted and positive person

  11. I live in LA and my son and I are Canucks fans. We’ve gone to Kings/Canucks games and have had run ins with very vile and pathetic grown men in Kings jerseys. Yes there are nice, polite Kings fans. But there is a lot of scumbags in the Kings fan community who have no class or decency.

  12. it’s a shame, hang in there girl you’re better than that đŸ‘đŸ» I wish the Oilers success in the playoffs, the organization should send her some signed memorabilia

  13. God…or lets say the creator…..would be saying…well back to the drawing board…..

  14. When I was around 11, I wore a Ducks jersey to a Kings game twice. I got yelled at while I walked around the Forum. I even was told to shut up when I cheered for a goal. Not cool to be treated that way for any child.
