I really think he’s part of the core now. He’s so good along the wall and he’s such a good passer. With all the goal scorers the Sabres have, Mitts is a good fit. I think getting stronger and staying healthy was all he needed.
One of the little differences I noticed throughout the year was when someone scores half the time one of the other guys on the ice is even more excited for them then they even are. Guys are invested in this team and these players and when someone scores they are so happy for them.
Mittlestadt may not be a huge scorer when he doesn't have a line to support him, but I swear he makes every like look better no matter where they put him last season. Super excited to see where he end up next season!
Mittelstadt admittedly was disappointing and frustrating to watch at the beginning of this season, but the back half of the season the guy was money. Sometimes he was even the most noticeable Sabre on the ice in certain instances.
ok like yea olofsson is pretty brutal but all he does is score MASSIVE goals. especially towards the end of the year. goals against nyi, winnipeg, chicago, minne to name a few
If you do another of these compilations, I hope you'll include the goal by Buffalo's Casey Middelstadt against the Carolina Hurricanes on April 8, 2023, when Jeff Skinner cleverly redirected a puck heading towards him with his skate that went right to Middelstadt, who scored.

After previously looking like he needed a change of scenery, he's now developed into a guy who can drive the play on the 2nd or 3rd line
