Glad to see the fancy stats supporting what the Hawks looked like tonight against Detroit’s more meh squad compared to Sunday. Basically:
– 4th line was great and controlled the puck well, you could tell their experience was having them winning all their battles against the more inexperienced young/AHL guys.
– Bedard was by far the best individual forward except for Mr. Elite Perry himself
– Kaiser was absolutely dominant, he won like every battle, jumped into plays, shut things down in his own zone. Juts very solid play all around. One of Korchsinki or Phillips probably deserved an apple somewhere tonight. With how the rookie defensemen have pretty much all been playing overall in all games, I don’t see how you can really bench any of them for Tinordi/Zaitsev to start the year.
– Reichel being the worst impact is a little surprising, as he looks electric out there and is flashing tons of skill all over the place, but the chemistry is not there yet at all. Can’t sustain any pressure and hasn’t mixed well defensively with his teammates yet.
Fun game overall, hopefully we get some action like this throughout the actual season, but with some more puck luck for Bedard!

Seth Jones doesn’t have any dark blue for defense on this graph. Does that mean his defense and pk were exactly 0?
I respect Richardsons decision for wanting a scoring threat and overall Impact on two lines but I really want to see Reichel on the Bedard/Hall line. He has the skill and compete to accent them perfectly. Slide Johnson down to center the 2nd line with Raddysh and Donato or something.
