They play the Panthers on the 12th at home. LET’S GO WILD!!!

Another one of these “records because we make it one”, sure, give him the record if he gets it. I really don’t care though. All time wins and all time save percentages are true tests of a goalies all time skill, not if you’re having a good day every season opener.
fastal_12147
They’re not starting Fleury in the season opener. The net is Gus’ to lose, at this point, no matter what the team tells the media.
DismalYoghurt233
He has to be the GOAT of giving the puck away if he isn’t in the other categories listed
jfstompers
I mean no,
AssumptionSome4201
probably not. he was real bad in the early 2010’s and the main reason crosby doesn’t have more hardware. he had meltdown after meltdown. world juniors, the series against philly in 2012? Dude was volatile. high highs, embarrassing lows.
From the years 2009-2010 to 2012-2013 MAF was unable to produce a 90+% save percentage in the playoffs.
His Golden Knights playoff run is by far his best run statistically. He’s 92-74 in the playoffs. for reference. Roy was 151-94 and Brodeur was 113-91

I have no idea why people seem to think all star games mean anything.
starwestsky
Well here’s hoping he continues to share that distinction. Hope he gets chased. Nothing personal.

Vasilevskiy would like a word….
FA_Off
Stats matter more than cups when selecting goalie GOATs.

Define modern era…
Fleganhimer
Is he the greatest of all time of goalies in the modern era? What?
HerbalAndy
Please just put Gus in for the season opener.. that first game first win is really important for momentum.
PeteRock24
Not a chance unless you consider the “modern era” to be after 2005 and even then you’ve got Vasilevsky standing in his way.
biohazard842
What the fuck kind of term is modern era GOAT?
Greatest OF ALL TIME.
Clearly we can’t have one GOAT per era.
Narrow_Book_42069
Genuinely laughable.

Fleury was never the best goalie in any year he played, even his Vezina year Vasi was better
Interesting-Test180
NO🤣😂
viau83
Price was better, but his team sucked. Anybody could have won these stanley cups as a goalie with Pittsburgh back in the days.
Interesting-Test180
Tbh I don’t think he’s ever been the best in the league at his position any year he’s played
The_Dirtydancer
What a stupid post !!
Valuable-Baked
Nah
jairzinho
Fleury is as much a GOAT in the era of Price, Luongo and Ludqvist as Chris Osgood was in the era or Patrick, Marty, and Dom
mm0_
Well he for sure isn’t the **best** cap era goalie, it’s quite easy to pick at least 10 better ones. But the **greatest**? I understand why people argue for it, but personally I would give that to Vasilevskiy even though he still has many years left.
jimhabfan
He’s not even in the conversation.
994kk1
Modern era greatest of all time. Welp.
HarryPoutini
I think if we’re talking modern goalies, Price, Brodeur, and Vasi all easily beat him. I’d also argue Lunq or Luongo have arguments for being better.
Electric-Lettuce
Lmao no not even close. There’s at least 5 “modern” guys I’d take over him
