They should give up on him……he’s clearly a bust
nyr sorry they didn't let the canucks over pay for him when they had the chance.
As a fan, I am fortunately getting to that level. I understand that he is a good producer of EV points, but he just lacks pace and effort. Othmann and Cuyle are demonstrating that they belong as well as want it more. I am rooting for Laf but my hope is almost gone.
Just think…the Rangers wouldn't give him up when they wanted Eichel 😂
I'm sure the Sabres would trade a 3rd rounder for Laffs
lol I am laughin so glad the nucks didn't try to get him.
The problem is they don’t wanna try him on mikas left over kreider
I remember reading about how Lafreniere physically matured earlier than most. I'm not sure how "science" based it is but people generally say that once you enter your 20's , you get "man" strength. Just general physical strength that you dont have when you're 15 – 17 ish.
This is why you see 19 year old , drafted players going back into the CHL and Q dominating at over 2:0 PPG paces but they never get a sniff at the NHL.
I know that this is something scouts now look out for…. dont draft a 16/17 year old who just physically matured a few years ahead of schedule…… less room for development.
How is he compared to Kakko?
Laughreniere.
bust bust bust bust
It’s very hard for me to believe that NYR development isn’t at fault. Look at all the other high draft picks they’ve had
Trade him to the habs , we'll give them a first round pick
No one is holding him accountable. They gave him his 2 year baby bag 💰 and the Homes is slacking. The NJ Devils at the end of last season told Alexander Holtz that he needed to work on his skating & fundamentals if he wanted to make the team. Holtz trained with Bratt during the summer and now looks visibly faster in both camp and preseason thus far. Lafreniere spent too much time lounging and eating Poutine because dude skates like he's as slow as molasses. 🤣
you don't develop first overall picks.. they make impact right away. he is simply not that good.
It’s all NYR fault on the development. You got a supposedly high ranked player i draft but never gave him the time to play with star players. How can someone do anything playing bottom 9 minutes 🤔. Glad I ain’t a nyr fan. The way they develop their prospects is horrible
He stinks
No matter what position he plays no matter what team he is on he will always be in the shadow of Timmy stu and I do think byfield will end up a more effective player as well. I think this just shows how terrible of a league the Quebec league is
Habs just need to trade for him already. Him on the habs is like Bread and butter. He would breakout in his home team. Lets hope it happens Habs fans.
lets go habs. Get him for peanuts!!!
Finally a coach on the N.Y. Rangers has stated to the organization that their inconsistent play is unacceptable losing to the Devils and Islanders. The preseason has been embarrassing. The team better wake up for this coach is not taking crap.
i have not watched him but I bet part of the problem is really poor coaching I wouldn't hire one single coach in the NHL they are all bums.If I was hiring a coach it would be ted Nolan well sorry I am ok with Torts I would hire him but that's it the only two otherwise all bums.
As a Sens fan, thank god the Senators lost the draft lottery to both NYR and the LA Kings allowing the Sens to draft Tim Stutzle 3rd overall. If Ottawa had the 1st pick they would have take Lafreniere and we'd already be comparing him to Daigle.
That New-York put him on waivers.Maybe he stinks as well.
Please go to Montreal
I so wish that Toronto had picked him. To shut up the NHLs most arrogant fans.
develop team defense in own zone, transition to offense puck movement?
does not sound like Lafreniere is a fit with Rangers; trade if not turn around soon
Maybe Habs should offer Justin Barron or Dvorak for Laf.
Trade him to STL for Sammy Blais.
