  1. ice surfing is the love child in media of man buns and big hair
its a freeze dried turd you have to kick aside in the back yard every spring

  2. If you still like the player and trade them they're gone. This way if Lassi gets put on waivers by the Ducks Ottawa can reclaim him and reassign him to Belleville without waivers (like TBL & Barre-Boulet). They might just be moving on, but it could be a roundabout way to retain the player and try again next year (or if there are injuries) when he's more polished. I think they're right about him not being NHL ready Oct 11th and banking on him clearing OR being reassigned and made available again at some point

  3. Travis Hamonic would have been the third highest point D on the Leafs last season. He took a discount to stay in Ottawa. He could have signed elsewhere for $1.5M-2M. But an older player taking a discount to keep his family where they want to live will want to actually be sure they'll stay where they want to live.

  4. LOVIN IT THAT BOTH THE SENS AND HABS ARE GOING TO BE HOT GARBAGE AGAIN 😂😂😂. No playoffs in sight. LEAFS OWN THE ATLANTIC THIS YEAR. 🎉

  5. On the waiver stuff, any team could have reached out to the Sens to trade for Thomson if they wanted him for a late pick. It didn't happen. Maybe the Sens didn't call all 31 teams. But maybe that's why they announced the Bernard-Docker and Sokolov waiver placements the day before. It gives teams a chance to call and make a deal if they want the players on their NHL roster.

Remember, the Sens still have the right to claim Thomson if the Ducks send him down to the AHL, and then send him to Belleville instead.

But the criticism about drafting/developing sure seems valid to me. The JBD and Thomson picks look like misses.

  6. The Vezina Collection: This collection was built around Georges Vezina by Dr. Brian Price, using various memorabilia pieces from his last and only known pair of NHL Game-Used goalie pads in the sports card industry. There were 150 total boxes produced with 2 cards each. The buckles were the chase cards. All boxes were direct to consumer so all were spoken for very quickly. The HHOF actually had these Vezina pads (intact) at one point and they didn’t have the money to buy them back, so they were kept by Dr. Brian Price.

  7. Apparently, the pyramids weren’t covered with marble. It was limestone. They didn’t have marble.

  8. New information suggests that NFTs are practically dead. According to a report by dappGambl, using data from NFT Scan and CoinMarketCap, NFTs have lost most of their value after the hype cycle ended. They analyzed 73,257 collections and found that just over 95% (69,795 of them) have lost all their value. THIS JUST CAME OUT on Sep 21, 2023

  9. Love all the Sens coverage lately đŸ„°đŸ„°

Get used to it! Ottawa will be relevant for years to come 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

  10. The pyramids impressive fact is that their face due north which architects in modern day Still struggle to accomplish

  11. Sorry, jesse, gotta agree with adam about the pyramids. The marble that thebegyptians covered the pyramids with were so precise and angled so perfectly that you couldnt see the seems once they were placed.

Not to mention the technicques used to make them were lost to time.

A better analogy to the pyramids would be if there was a country right now that developped interstellar flight and took to the galaxy. Thats almost how far advanced the pyramids were compared to other engineering feats of the same time period.

The eye is cool and all but the 3d technologies it uses isnt new and as a human species we understand the mechanics of it. Nobody during the pyramids same time could match what they accomplished and it took us until almost now to reverse engineer them and figure ojt how they were able to build them.

  12. The only good thing about NFTs is when they allowed some artists to get money from people who mostly had too much of it to care if they spent it on a NFT. Grifters making NFTs from stolen artwork and corporations basically made non-fungible tokens uncool.

  13. Jessie's pyramid take is legitimately one of the worst takes this show has ever had, and that's pretty bad.

  14. Before electronics were made to keep us entertained on planes, they probably mostly smoked, drank and played cards

  15. Just for the record, the printing presses they use to print things like hockey cards are 4 colour process (at least, some can do spot colours too). Only crappy inkjets print colour with 3 colours they leave out the black from CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. Not a big deal, just passing on some knowledge from an old school press operator lol

  16. You’re not playing Lassi with Brannstrom in a third pair. JBD has been passed in the depth chart by younger guys with more promise and Soko just doesn’t have NHL level mobility. If anyone develops in to something worthwhile it’d be great but it won’t be in Ottawa.

  17. You guys are talking about cards. Upper Deck premier just released today. 2021-22, they are a few season's behind. This set has mega patch cards where you can get a large piece of a player game worn jersey. It is not autograohed. Depending on the size of the team's logo, they usually cut it into 25 – 26 pieces/patches. They are actually pretty cool looking cards and there are collectors out there who try and collect the entire logo from 1 player.

  18. The death of NFt's have been greaty exagerated. Feels like when everyone was calling the internet a fad

  19. I think it’s extremely wholesome that Jesse carries Willy everywhere in his backpack

  20. The Sphere, if left to nature and the elements and to the foolishness of every marveling transient, without constant upkeep and protection and management and maintenance, will be but rubble in a decade.

    The pyramids. Not so much.

  21. Jesse, the Pyramid's are nearly 500 feet tall, 755 feet wide, inch perfect rock structures, aligned with constellations, were constructed with 5000 pound rocks and assembled by rudimentary tools with slave labour. Sure, the sphere is cool, but with context the pyramids are unfathomable
