  1. It's good move. It is 0 risk amd cost involved and in return u get a once highly ranked prospect to give 1 more shot to prove himself. If he doesn't then oh well , we lost nothing. This has Yzerman written all over it 👏👍🏆

  2. It all comes down to coaching and having the right people in your life. The sky is the limit for Olli! He just needs to believe and work hard. All the best!

  3. Very interesting and smart move.. You claim on waivers a kid with big upside Who struggled before if he pans out that'd would make Yzerman a genious and if he still don't have the impact well no problem that was a pretty cheap move with very low risks while you have really promising kids in the pipeline at D Espacially LHD

  4. This is a win. If he doesn’t pan out so what. Our system is good enough wear we can work on him. And plus he’s a left D which in case you don’t keep up with the red wings WE NEED THOSE!!!!

  5. I don't know what wings see in juolevi. A bad pick by canucks and second ranked d man on central scouting going into '16 draft who just looked good playing on a stacked knights team in '16 with marner, tkachuk, dvorak (2nd), e. bouchard, mete (4th), r. thomas,, m jones-all first round picks-that won 18 straight playoff games en route to '16 mem. cup title. casucks could have taken sergachev, mcavoy, chychrun, or even his teammate tkachuk instead. Just a bad pick by casucks. And anyone that thinks blashill is gonna somehow get the best out of this guy is nuts. In case they haven't noticed wings have gotten behind 10-2 and 6-1 early last night. hahaha to them. All this move means is juolevi is insurance in case ufa's leddy, staal are moved at the tdl.

  6. BETTER …much better conversation than some nebulous "Boston Trade" …Ollie has valuble international experience for Finland as well as being chosen Captain during development. This is a much better deal than anything "Boston" …a young defensive player WORTH THE RISK of upping his game with Detroit's new defensive coach!!!! This deal has far more upside than down…

  7. DDK waived and Rowney on IR today. Sounds like Juolevi will play with the wings and from the sounds of it Vrana will be back possibly as soon as Tuesday night vs the Coyotes.

  8. Most underrated YouTuber ever he needs way more credit for all these videos he puts out

  9. Kronwall will teach him to play with grit and not his skates…expect a different player as he's slowed a step so he needs to learn how to use his body

  10. I like the claim, it's the sort of buy low risk taking that makes sense for our team in it's current state. With DDK waived now and likely moving of Leddy and/or Staal the left side of our defense is going to need some work. We have some kids in the pipeline: Edvinsson, Johansson, Wallinder, Viro, McIssac, Sebrango, etc. Maybe we see more of Oesterle. It's possible we could choose to use a defensive prospect as a trade chip for a defenseman: Wallinder package for a Chychrun or another target. I'd be more focused on getting Olli on the ice with actual minutes and on a decent pairing really force him to earn his ice time.

  11. I get Fabbri vibes from this pick up and Fabs has worked out so far I'd say so I'm hoping for the same to happen here

  12. I hope Juolevi eventually turns into a solid NHL player. He was a high prospect before his draft. Hopefully he discovers his game, kind of like what happened to Jared McCann.

  13. Vancouver and Florida do not have the patience that Detroit has with young players. Chances are Steve will let him get accustomed down in G.R. and let him work on his game there and then bring him up to Det when needed. We did not have to give up anything for him and with no one down in G.R. besides Witkowski to bring up to fill holes on the blue line, this makes sense.

  14. Van missed out on so many good players in that draft, just look at the names taken after him
