James Reimer faced 5 penalty kills and plenty of pressure down low and only gave up one goal. It was a messy game for both teams but Detroit made one fewer mistake and stole the game 2-1. JT Compher played solid again driving play on offense and defense for the Red Wings. Sprong netted another goal and is proving he could be a vital piece of the teams depth scoring. Edvinsson scored the GWG and looks like he might actually make the team! #lgrw

You guys are sleeping on Daniel Sprong. He has always had this talent. I was a Pittsburgh fan while he was still in the minor leagues and the fan base went crazy when they traded him. Everyone thought he was capable of scoring 40 goals a season. He has had some terrible coaches. I really believe he will be in the mid 30s and goals for the Red Wings. His wrist shot can beat a goalie from anywhere on the ice. His one timer is deadly accurate. His ability of check and hound the puck is great. His biggest weakness will always be what he does away from the puck. Give him power playtime and give him empty net time he might hit 40.
Honestly that shot spread is how almost all teams look.This happen because you can no longer be as aggressive in front of the net with pushing and crosschecks without getting called.

Ugly and sloppy game on both sides. I got the impression that neither team cared that much until the game started getting chippy.
I don’t think anyone either won or lost a spot last night. I still expect Simon to start in GR because he makes too many mistakes, but those should clean up enough with a lot of minutes. When the wings lose a D to injury or find a trade they can’t refuse, he will be up to stay.

Happy to see Mo with the A this game. It was a really sloppy games, felt like they were using this game to practice some set plays. Kept seeing them re-set and then do the same thing over again. Passes kept getting missed or mishandled which led to more PIT O-zone time.
I think a 2nd line of Sprong Compher and Raymond would be interesting. I think Raymond on line 1 is too much pressure for him right now. Until he's in his prime, let him figure it out on line 2.
It also gives him 2 forwards to work with that can play with sandpaper. Debrincat and Raymond on the same line is a little concerning to me.
Why is this a messy win? I really like #88, Sprong, a cannon on ice.
