I don’t understand why people are so quick to jump to these types of rumors. He hasn’t looked great in the preseason yes, but it doesn’t mean he needs to be linked to the habs every minute. He’s not going to play like he was projected but he will be just fine.

I think he is trying to get traded.
He is a bust, no progress whatsoever, he doesn’t excel in any phase of the game. He is not a good skater, slow and not strong enough. Ranger over hype his talent. What hpd he was bigger and stronger in the juniors. But the NHL is another dog….. When I suggested that we should have trade him for Jack Eichel everybody called me crazy….Waiting for all the excuses that some fans are going to making for him…
Lafreniere does not want to be with the Rangers, he is just sabotaging himself to get traded. He possibly would want to be a Montreal guy.
When he doesn't improve under a new coach what's next can't blame coaching anymore so wonder how kuch longer he lasts in New York still think he has a long leash
If he has a choice it would be any team other than the Habs. In his draft year he stated that he didn’t want to play in Quebec
The Rangers bringing in Kane and Tarasenko for the 2022-23 playoffs was a bad decision. Why put more obstacles in front of Laf and Kakko? You showed them you don’t believe in them and slowed their development
Should have let them build on their playoff success from the previous season.

I say trade him to the hawks for a 2nd. We have so many. We'll get him a sports psychologist and try and give him some 2nd line minutes on the wing. Who work, and if not we have a million 2nds.
He is an absolute bust. Just like Jonathan Druin = sucks. He knows Kapo is ahead of him and he has no chance to succeed.

He is just average, has always been so far in his NHL career. The eye test does not lie, I don't care about potential or playing time, line mates… blah blah blah. The coaching staff sees him in practice, and they put him into the role he is in based on what they see also.

I think nyr stunted his growth by not giving him proper ice time. Has he consistently played more than 10-15 minutes a game? I can already see the moment he's traded and put into a top 6 roll he will see success.
Send him to chicago. Plenty of opportunities

If a guy is working his backside off and not producing, that's one thing. But if the effort is not there, that is not forgivable.

What the hell is wrong with Lafreniere? does he really want out of the Ranger organization? I hope everything changes for the better soon for the season begins in a week from now, as for the teams preseason i really feel they are playing as though each game was a practice, getting the feel for each others positioning and plays.

Dude skates like he has a loaded diaper. He got his baby bridge deal and proceeded to hit the poutine heavily. No one holds this guy accountable. Rangers management should have mandated he train over the summer to improve his skating. He hasn't scored a goal since April. No more excuses NYR fans for what is a career 3rd line player. Sell that cow 🐄 while you can still get a return.
