Vlasic kneeing on Soderblom – Have your say!

Alex Vlasic was issued a five minute major for kneeing Elmer Soderblom in a pre-season game. Did he do enough for the major or was it accidental? Have your say!

  1. Don't like this. Soderblom doesn't really deviate from a given path, the hit is not there to be made from this angle.

  2. He leads with his knee, creating dangerous leg on leg contact. One could argue that this should be at most 1-2 games as Vlasic at least tried to go for the puck. However, it has to be 10 games as he did it against a former Frölunda player.

  3. It looks like he's going for the puck on the one angle, but I'd feel better if I'd seen any sign that he was putting a shoulder into the check.

  4. Leading with the knee should be an automatic 20 game suspension. Make players afraid of having the habit of sticking their knee out.

  5. pretty sure right before this happened, vlasic got buried in the neutral zone. he stands up, skates back into the play, and knees Soderblom. I think he's shaken up and an accident happens, but it definitely is his fault. give him a couple games suspension so the rules are upheld.

  6. Kinda looks like he’s going for the puck and as soon as he realizes the imminent contact he starts bending his knee to avoid any major leg injuries that happen when your leg gets hit while it’s straightened. I don’t see this as a dirty play but just my opinion.
