  1. Quick who’s got the shittiest overreaction about how this preseason means the Rangers are gonna be a lottery team and they should trade all their stars?

  2. Vaeltaja82

I’m going to be happily surprised if we make the playoffs this year. I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see it happening.

  3. Hawksbill85

Rangers had a shit playoff run last year and everyone was mad at Gallant. Rangers just had a shit preseason. Where are the people pointing fingers at Laviolette? Clearly Gallant wasn’t the problem.

  4. Envelopen

My positives are at least we kept this one competitive. Some good looks on offense. My laundry list of negatives don’t really matter til the regular season, but Lavi has not really shown me what he can do better than Gallant so far. At least we looked ready tonight even with the loss. We’re just too damn slow trying to settle the puck on every individual pass. Its no wonder we had so many highlight robbery saves last year.

  5. Preseason is over. Powerplay was awful. Panarin, Zbad, and Kreider all look lost. Its on Igors shoulders now because I don’t anticipate Quick winning many games. Expectations should be really low.

Gotta figure out the power play. Absolutely need to sort that out. Also need to get into the O zone cleanly. Looking forward to how we play in a week and see what happens man. LGR!

Cuylle earned a spot the opening night roster, he better be in the lineup next week

Alright Lavy. You’ve got just under a week to make sense of this and get the team on the same page. I think the lines ought to be set after this

    20-93-24

    10-72-13

    50-16-17

    26-17-21

Cuylle’s ready. He and Wheels are both big guys, Trocheck has that fiestyness to him, could be a tough line. Othmann should go tear it up for the wolfpack, develop out of the spotlight.

That top line is good. If this is the year we always think it’s going to be for Kakko, it’ll be great.

That second line….I don’t know. Panarin hasn’t played good hockey in a while now. Laf, I’ll be honest, I still think he has all of the potential of when he was drafted but he looks like we really fucked with his head. Kid needs a few things to go right for him, build off of it, and maybe finally stop playing hockey like he’s walking on eggshells. He’ll probably get about 15-20 games to solidify his spot, and if he can’t show that he’s got what it takes after that, who knows. Chytil will need to be a big part of that line, because I just don’t think Trocheck will work there

Gustavsson might have been the best Ranger in preseason. Nothing against Jones, but 56 gets the spot.

I wish I didn’t spend money on this fucking game, Holy fuck.

It’s preseason. Yes there may be concerns about the team, especially with Quick, but I’ll get worried if we are less than 500 at the end of October.

  11. I think the Rangers will eventually start playing better. I’m just worried that the league is getting a lot better than it was and will surpass the Rangers. I like Lavi’s workmanship philosophy, from what I see his system looks more defensive minded. I just don’t know if it’s a great match for how this team is built. The first line of Kreid, Zib, and Kakko looked pretty good, Zib still looks a bit rusty. Panarin when he first came to the Rangers was so dynamic. I don’t see it as much these days. It just seems like the Rangers are scouted to death, and the opposition knows what they’ll do before they do anything.

Does that mean the season is over? Nah I don’t think so, I just think the Rangers will have to find new levels to their game than they have previously. Especially on defense. Everyone needs to step up and play their best, or I can definitely see things getting ugly.

I totally get people wanting to stay optimistic, that’s fine, I just can’t deny what they need to improve on a lot.

  12. MrBogey90

Trochek and Goodrow man. Drury’s favorite player archetype: overpaid, underwhelming but has countless intangibles. Just like him as a player on the Rangers. Great leader in the locker room blah blah total b.s.

Was at the game and Kakko looked outstanding!
