  1. He probably is now yeah. I was rooting for him and still am but there’s just nothing special to his game

  2. I'd like to believe'n not a bust…
If he is talking about trades like laffy for podz, i wouldn't do that, honestly.
They both have a lot of potential still.

  3. He's only 22… the work ethic is there for Podkolzin and he checks all the boxes, it's just his hockey I.Q. that needs to improve.

  4. Messier played at center and Podkolzin plays at right wing. Has Podkolzin ever played center and I wonder if transitioning him to center would help improve his investment in controlling and setting up Vancouver's offense? Why not experiment with this with the Abbotsford Canucks and see how this affects his overall ability to be a difference-maker on the ice?

  5. Unfortunately, he likely is a bust… His numbers are just as bad or worse than Virtanen’s were.

  6. He’s like Messier except that he lacks confidence. Messier was confidence personified. So Vancouver is once again full of 💩and have a real issue developing anybody not on a hall of fame path. What a pathetic organization

  7. He ll be a useful and physical 2nd line winger one day he just he needs to play more get his confidence back. Those KHL years buried on the bottom 6 stifled his development 100%. I don't think having a baby last summer was good for his career either, cant blame him for being distracted. I'm willing to give him another whole year before I start thinking about the B word.

  8. If he actually becomes a high energy, forechecking beast, defensively sound and chips in a bit offensively then to me he reaches his expectation. Honestly like 18 goals, 35 points with all of that is great. He can still do it just has to accept certain things about his game.

  9. For those that actually saw his breakout tournament, that 18-19 Hlinka/Gretzky Cup, the comparable looked not like Mark Messier, but Pavel Bure. The way he was dangling through 2 or 3 defenders to score the spectacular individual highlight-reel goal was definitely a sight to behold. I wish we ended up with THAT guy, but it wasn't to be. I still hope he can help the team with his other assets though. As others have pointed out, he's still young.

  10. Messier was great. Not the beast like Keith Tkachuck or Dale Hawerchuck He was a goal scorer like Marcel Dionne

  11. Pod should have been in the minors from day one to get experience and learn the North American game time in the minors would be the best for him
