Halloween may have come early for the Vancouver Canucks.

Beggsy (aka, the darkest guy on the program) kicks off the show by talking about the awesome preseason that Buffalo Sabres forward Zach Benson is having. Beggsy and Bhawan then briefly debate the Canucks much-maligned choice to take Tom Willander ahead of Benson during the 2023 NHL Draft.

    Hockey is a team game. If Willander helps the Canucks to a Cup, Benson can do whatever he wants. D men are more valuable than forwards, on balance, assuming they hit. It doesn’t matter how good the picks are before or after you as long as yours land. Benson can score 40 goals, but if the Canucks as a team figure it out with Quinn and Tom, I’m happy with that. Obviously BPA all the way, but it definitely wasn’t as clear cut as Juolevi and Tkachuk.

    My thoughts are just that benson will likely be great but I think willander will have the same level of value. A potentially defensively savvy defencman that can join the rush and is a great skater. Plus a right hand shot

    Zach Benson is on the first line and PP1 for the Sabres.. he is making the team 100%

    I think Trev missed the point here. Weather mikheyev should have been signed or not doesnt matter. If he stays healthy he'll out play his contract. Kyle Kyle Kyle Brock had a bad year and still got 55 points with the work he has put in this offseason he could hit 60 points

    Sooo much darkness from Beggsy lol but on a positive note I think even he will admit Hughes look like he's taken another step. If he can play this way the whole season he will win the Norris!
