They’re currently undefeated in preseason and hope that the momentum will carry over into the regular season. Some key players including Jesper Bratt have been generating a lot of points during these exhibition matchups. However, the Devils have also been getting some decent point production from their defensemen.

Av's had a young upcoming team back then. That 48pts Av's team had the same McK, Landy, Rantanen core that eventually took the cup. I don't think the Devils will take similar risk. I'm guessing 2 of the 3 younger players will be sent down: Nemec, Luke, Holtz. A more conservative approach would be to sent them all to mature and run with the veteran core until injuries come.
My thoughts are that when you have a lot of turnover in your group like the Devils did you need that preseason to get a feel for each other. All the interviews with the team they're talking about building Chem as Jack says. I think everyone understands wins feel good, but they don't mean anything in preseason.
