If Fleury would've let Bedard hot dog him it would have been Fleury's last year for sure, even maybe half a year. At 39 in a month, Fleury is fighting with guys half his age to keep his spot in the NHL. The other thing is that Fleury would've done the same thing to any player in that circomstance. I think when Bedard stops respecting his surroundings, forgets about how surreal everything is, and stops putting every NHL player on a pedestal he'll start lighting up the lamp nightly. Right now, he's gripping his stick to hard out of nerves and just flat out respecting his surroundings too much. I've said this a million times, the #1 priority for Bedard in year one is to know who the bone crushers and cheap shot assholes are and keep your head up every second you're on the ice. Bedard needs to realize one fundamental fact, not one player in the NHL (except his team mates) gives a shit about him or his career. So my advice to Bedard is do your thing on the ice and say f-you to every player that's not on your team. Welcome to the NHL.

Out of all the "welcome to the NHL kid" hazing I've seen this is one of the least bad. Stakes are low because it's the pre season, nobody was hurt, doubt Flower had any malicious intent behind tripping him, even checked a bit if he's ok. Just overall while technically dirty I don't see the reason to be mad over it.
