It kind of comes with the territory, but when you are winning, other people don’t like you. Evander Kane apparently doesn’t either since it was reported he called the Colorado Avalanche “arrogant”. It got us thinking, do other hockey fans dislike the Avalanche, and if they do, why? Is it because of certain players on the team? If so, which ones? Or is it just because they have been a winning team over the past several years. Winning brings hatred from others. Are the Avs there yet?
We also discuss the news that new training / practice facilities could be on the way for the Avalanche and Denver Nuggets, which is long overdue. The Avalanche are severely lacking behind other franchises, so getting these built and ready to use ASAP is pretty important. We talk about why.

Like the difference between a clean hit and a dirty hit, Kane doesn't understand the difference between cockiness and swagger.

I completely disagree shaggy, ive seen comment sections, the Avs went from the fun good team to root for to the team everyone hates instantly after winning the cup. Now everyone loves to completely underrate the heck out of them and act like they are going to be trash somehow and laugh hysterically at it

The reason Kane doesn’t like the Avs is cause he can’t beat them and he knows , now that they picked up good depth , he knows his team can’t compete with them! Kane should stick to playing hockey , it’s not cocky if you can back it up, and it’s pure jealousy! You have , according to everyone the 2 best players in the world, and you still can’t win! Isn’t Ksne the guy who hit Kadri from behind and the Oilers still can’t win? Pure jealousy!
Who cares what Kane has to say about anything? Given his past as a loud mouth player that doesn’t ever deliver, minus knocking out Matt Cooke, he hasn’t done anything in the NHL. He’s always been a lazy self-absorbed player. In buffalo and San Jose they said all he was interested in was personal stats and betting. I won’t get too far into the last part. Sounds like a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. Maybe he should worry about getting that dream-team he has in Edmonton to the cup, and we’ll all listen to his feelings on things.

I’m a season ticket holder, so of course I’m biased, however, I’ve never thought that they are arrogant and/or cocky. As you’ve seen in my past comments, I’m not exactly a “homer” and can think critically and not necessarily like a fanatic. Arrogant? Nope. Confident? Yes.
Are we really surprised that the Kroenkes have waited this long to build a proper facility?They can’t even seize the opportunity to grow the popularity of the Avs by working with Comcast.

I’m psyched about RJ this season. He brings size, scoring and is great on draws and is a great fit for the Avs. And many folks forget that outside of the 21/22 season, Kadri was good but far from great. I’d go so far as to say he cost the Avs a legit chance at the cup in 20/21 taking the suspension from the cheap shot on Faulk. There were points in that same season where he played average at best. And don’t get me wrong, I liked having Kadri but at the same time, he is indeed replaceable and although the Avs weren’t able to do it last season, I think they did a great job in doing so this offseason with RJ.
I am entirely fine with Kane not liking us. I'd prefer that he not like us. After that cheap and dirty hit on Kadri, I feel a bit more than dislike for him.
I really enjoyed Vegas winning the Stanley Cup to shove it in the faces of the many haters they have.
Those who don't like the Avalanche are just jealous of their success. That's my opinion. They don't have players that are hateable.

I'm sorry but Evander Kane is a trash can. After all the cheap hits I've seen, after what he did to the sharks organization and watching him do nothing but try to milk super hard hits during playoffs, I think it's completely safe to say he's an absolute trash can.
Super excited to see what RyJo can do for the avs, this team is going to be so exciting to watch this season!
I think from a fan perspective the avs are a disliked team by some regions. I would think Vegas is more hated though….no bias there lol
